We would love to have your family fill out the one time membership and demographic form below to be part of our family - Early Years Family Resource Centre. This information will help us plan and provide quality programs.

Current Programs

Our programs are no cost and parents/caregivers with children prenatal to age five are welcome to register.

Early Years Family Resource Centre Programs

Free Little Library - Located just outside our entrance doors at 1250 11th Ave NW (south side). It contains books and other seasonal items.

Story Trail - Walk with you family down a trail to find a children's story book on display. The Story Trail is in partnership with Regional KidsFirst and located outside the Family Resource Centre. The Story Trail is open to walk through at anytime, no registration required. After you walk the Story Trail there is a limited number of activity bags available beginning August 15th.

A new book begins on Monday August 15th, once you have enjoyed the Story Trail a limited number of activity bags will be available!

Story Box - An early literacy resource for families to borrow that encourages reading together in a fun and interactive way.

Developmental Check-In - Using the Ages & Stages Questionnaire-3 (ASQ-3) which is a parent/caregiver screening tool. ASQ-3 gives you a glimpse in 5 important areas of a child's development: communication, gross motor, fine motor, problem solving and personal-social. Families have the option to meet in person or pick up a questionnaire to fill it out at home. The next in person Developmental Check-In day is Wednesday August 31st from 1:00-3:00pm.

Drop-In Play Inside and Outside - An inclusive, welcoming environment for children and parents/caregivers to play and explore together. The Early Years Family Resource Centre (FRC) supports children to learn and grow and parents/caregivers to be the best they can be. Drop-In play is a place to meet and connect with other families, and meet the staff of the FRC.

Please fill out the one time Membership form (required) and a one time Demographic form (optional).

Programs offered with partnering agencies

Maternal Mental Health Matters - A peer support group held Wednesday mornings from 10:00am-11:00am via zoom. This free drop in group offers coping strategies, resources, emotional and peer support. All mothers welcome.

Moms for Moms - Join Amanda, a public health nurse for an in-person group of moms helping support moms. Drop-In every Monday from 10:00am-11:00am at the Early Years Family Resource Centre.

Truth & Reconciliation Day - Join the staff of the FRC, YMCA, Moose Jaw Literacy Network and a special guest for a drop-in event to learn about about Indigenous cultures through hands on activities, traditional storytelling & more. 10:00am - 11:30am outside at the FRC.

Story Trail Exploration - Join Angie & Rebecca as they walk with families through the Story Trail to read the new book on display, then head inside to do some fun activities together. Watch for more information on this program. Registration will be required.

Bannock and Soup Making - A family event right here at the FRC kitchen. Join us as we cook and eat together. Watch for more information on this program. Registration will be required.

Drop-In Music - All families welcome as we join Miss Cora for a drop-in Move and Groove hour once a month beginning in October. Watch for dates and times. Registration will be required.

Pumpkin Patch Party - Join the FRC staff and community partners as we explore a variety of pumpkin themed early learning & literacy activities together on Friday October 28th. Watch for more information.
