We would love to have your family fill out the one time membership form below to be part of our family - Early Years Family Resource Centre. This information will  help us plan and provide quality programs. 

Current Programs

Our programs are no cost and parents/caregivers with children prenatal to age five are welcome to register. 

Early Years Family Resource Centre Programs

Drop-In Play Inside and Outside - An inclusive, welcoming environment for children and parents/caregivers to play and explore together. The Early Years Family Resource Centre (FRC) supports children to learn and grow and parents/caregivers to be the best they can be. Drop-In play is a place to meet and connect with other families, and meet the staff of the FRC.

Free Little Library - Located just outside our entrance doors at 1250 11th Ave NW (south side). It contains books and other seasonal items.

Story Trail - Walk with you family down a trail to find a children's story book on display. The Story Trail is in partnership with Regional KidsFirst and located outside the Family Resource Centre. The Story Trail is open to walk through at anytime, no registration required.

Story Box - An early literacy resource for families to borrow that encourages reading together in a fun and interactive way.

Music & Movement - Join the staff of the FRC for singing, dancing and moving! Great for all ages! See calendar for days and times. 

Angie's Reading Corner - Join the FRC staff for a book and an activity in the Early Years Family Resource Centre Lending Library! See calendar for days and times.

Ask Amanda - Have a question about your child's speech and language development? Ask Amanda (Speech-Language Pathologist) during Drop-In Play. Check calendar for the next date!

Literacy Fun for Everyone - Join Amanda (Speech-Language Pathologist) for literacy activities! Drop-in anytime in the morning.  For families with children ages 0-5 yearsCheck the calendar for the next date!

Dad-ur-day - A welcoming place for dads/dad figures to connect with others and engage in a variety of activities with your little one(s). Watch the calendar for days and times!

Nobody's Perfect - If you are curious about your child's behavior, mind, safety and body and would like to connect with other parents/caregivers...then this is for you!

Programs offered with partnering agencies

Moms for Moms - Join Amanda, a public health nurse for an in-person group of moms helping support moms. Drop-In every Monday from 10:00am-11:00am at the Early Years Family Resource Centre.

A Little Spot of Feelings - Have emotions? Join Little Spot and friends as we learn how to manage some of our basic emotions in a fun, colorful way!

The JOY of Growing - Join us at the Early Years Family Resource to connect with Early Years Professionals and celebrate your child's milestones in a fun and interactive way through the Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ-3).  Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ-3) is a parent/caregiver screening tool used to give you a glimpse in 5 important areas of a child's development: communication, gross motor, fine motor, problem solving and personal-social. Please note the ASQ-3 is available daily!  See calendar for the next date!

Dolly Parton's Imagination Library - Please note that this program is currently not accepting new registrations.

Dolly Parton's Imagination Library is a community-based book gifting program that mails free, high-quality books to children from birth to age five. This program is made possible through the support of generous community partners and local businesses.  If you are a community partner or local business interested in making a difference in our community, please click the link below to learn how you can support this impactful program.

Upcoming Programs

Lunch & Learn - We are excited to invite you to join us for our Lunch & Learn series on zoom, designed to bring valuable insights directly to you.  Each session features a different early years educator covering diverse topics relevant to your child's development.  All Lunch & Learns are on zoom from 12:00pm-12:30pm.  Check out the calendar for dates and topics.

Taking Care of Yourself as a Parent - We are thrilled to invite you to a morning (Friday August 23rd) dedicated to "Taking Care of Yourself as a Parent"!  Although this program is not formally registered, it will begin at 9:30am!  If you plan to attend and require childminding or transportation please call or email us! 

Nobody's Perfect (6-week program) - At Nobody's Perfect sessions you can learn about your child's feelings, behaviours, body, and safety as well as sharing what it is like to be a parent.  Join us for the 6 week sessions beginning on Thursday September 19th from 9:30-11:30am.  Watch for more information to register! 

Touch a Truck - Saturday September 7, 2024.  Join the FRC, Moose Jaw Public Library, Moose Jaw Literacy Network,  and other early years partners for a family-filled, hands-on literacy day at Moose Jaw Event Centre. Families can interact together with not only the trucks, but with the “heroes” that drive and operate them. They can hear the sirens, watch the tractor bucket move, and learn about the safety of the vehicles.

~ 11:00am - 3:00pm at the Moose Jaw Events Centre 110 1st Ave NW

~ There is no cost to enter this event!

~ Concession will be available to purchase food and drinks!

~ Activity tables will be set up inside the curling rink!

~This event is for families with children between the ages of 0-8, however older siblings are welcome!

~ Children must be accompanied by a parent/caregiver!

~ There will be a Sensory Sensitive Time from 2:30pm-3:00pm (most sirens, lights and horns turned off)
